Contractor
The contractor for the A9 availability model is the project company Via Gateway Thüringen GmbH & Co. KG. This company is responsible for the overall realisation of the project and performs all services in the fields of operation and maintenance. The shareholders of the project company are VINCI Concessions and Invesis in equal parts.
The client
Via Gateway Thüringen is responsible for the A9 availability model on behalf of the Federal Republic of Germany, represented by Autobahn GmbH des Bundes, which is represented by DEGES Deutsche Einheit Fernstraßenplanungs- und -bau GmbH.
DEGES Deutsche Einheit Fernstraßenplanungs- und -bau GmbH
As the project management company, DEGES Deutsche Einheit Fernstraßenplanungs- und -bau GmbH fulfils the function of client. DEGES coordinates, optimises and monitors the services of Via Gateway Thüringen in a complex and integrated project and quality management system. DEGES' shareholders are the federal government and twelve federal states.
Autobahn GmbH des Bundes
Founded in 2018, Autobahn GmbH des Bundes has been responsible for the planning, construction, operation, maintenance, financing and asset management of highways and long-distance roads in Germany since 1 January 2021. It is therefore one of the largest and most diverse infrastructure operators in Germany and is responsible for around 13,000 kilometres of highway network.
Sovereign tasks that are neither the responsibility of the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport nor assigned to Autobahn GmbH des Bundes by way of a loan are predominantly carried out by the Federal Trunk Road Authority.

Construction joint venture
The consortium ‘Arge A9 EW Thüringen’ is carrying out the construction work on behalf of Via Gateway Thüringen. The consortium partners were the construction companies Eurovia GmbH and Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau AG, each with a 50% share.
